Accidents happen. Injuries happen. Illnesses happen. Bad things happen to good people sometimes, and unfortunately, some of these issues may affect a person’s life, including their ability to work. Thankfully, the United States Social Security Administration has programs available to help qualified American workers who have been or expect to be out of work for at least a year.
The two programs are called Social Security Disability Insurance, or SSDI, and Supplemental Security Income, or SSI. These programs have been created to help workers who are impaired and unable to work. The benefits they receive can be used to supplement the person’s cost of living expenses. The programs are not designed to be total replacements for a worker’s lost income.
Applying for one of these programs and getting accepted is not an easy process, and many fail simply because they did not properly fill out the necessary forms or provide enough information. Others may have uncertainty and questions about some of the forms. Others simply misunderstand the qualifications or do not provide enough proof that their condition is severe enough. That is where we come in.
