Accidents following the Super Bowl may lead to serious injuries

This weekend marks the end of a long National Football League season culminating with the biggest sporting event of the year, the Super Bowl. While many sports fans embrace the event, many non-football fans are happy to see that they may get their significant other's back for Sunday afternoons.

The Super Bowl is a special event for many though, even many non-football fans play along and accompany their loved ones even if not to watch the game, but to socialize with friends and family at gatherings, and to watch the commercials and halftime show.

Like many holidays in the United States, following a night of festivities often leads to an increase of risks on the roads, including the possibility of drunk drivers and drunk driving related accidents. Add to it the fact that half of the country is vulnerable to wintery weather at this time of year, and the risks can be compounded.

As you know, drunk driving accidents can lead to serious, catastrophic and even life-long injuries for its victims. Among the most common forms of serious car accident injuries include brain injuries, neck injuries, and spinal injuries, all of which can lead to long-term or lifelong recovery and therapy.

The Social Security Administration has multiple programs in place to help Americans suffering from long-term serious injuries. If you can prove that your injury is debilitating enough that you cannot maintain gainful employment, or if it is believed that the injury will likely end in death, you may be eligible for Social Security disability benefits for injury. The process to get approved in one of the programs is not easy, and you may find your changes improved by seeking advice from a seasoned lawyer familiar with Social Security disabilities.
