Filing Social Security Disability benefit papers can be difficult

More than half of all Social Security Disability benefit seekers are first denied after their initial application. Accordingly, one should make certain every effort is made to properly fill out the appropriate forms and documents when applying. But, for New Yorkers who are already suffering from a mental disorder, injury or medical condition, obtaining all the necessary paperwork can be not only demanding and intimidating, but also physically and mentally exhausting.

In order to qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance, one needs to have a disabling condition that is expected to last at least a year or end in death, and a condition that prohibits one from seeking and maintaining gainful employment. Although, many conditions are acknowledged and documented by the Social Security Administration, every person's situation is different. And, even if a condition is not listed, an applicant may still qualify and receive benefits, if they are able to prove their condition.

With over 20 years of experience, the team at Katz & Associates, P.C., Attorneys at Law, have been helping victims in the New York City area, including Long Island, Queens and the surrounding areas. We have helped thousands process claims and fight obstacles during the process that may prohibit or deny a victim from receiving benefits. Initial consultations are free, and nothing is owed unless we are able to obtain benefits.

New Yorkers do not need to tackle the process alone. If they are about to start the application process, or even after being denied, it may be wise to seek the advice and guidance of a firm familiar with Social Security Disability to help.
